Midtown Shed Community Center

Location: Denver, Colorado
Client: Brookfield Residential

Midtown is a 184-acre urban infill neighborhood located less than 5 miles west of downtown Denver and was conceived as a community with strong connection to the outdoors in a contemporary, hip context. The central amenity and entry is configured as a “main street” and consists of “The Garden Shed” community center, street fronting retail and outdoor pavilion surrounded by a 5 acre community garden and dog park. In lieu of monument signage, the architecture of the The Shed is envisioned as a dynamic landmark to denote neighborhood presence. As a community resource The Shed, pavilion and associated “back yard” spaces hosts cooking classes, lectures, concerts and other community events.
