The Hard Rock Hotel at Riviera Maya is adjacent to a rugged iron-shore coastline. The landscape design team developed a ‘Better than a Beach’ waterfront experience, a series of tropical lagoons and coves with sandy beaches and a continuous meandering kilometer-long beachfront promenade. The family side includes pools, beaches, a teen activity area and lagoon, and kid’s interactive water play zone; the adult area features pools and private beach lagoons. A unique design aspect is the Stairway to Heaven, a series of seating terraces that ascend over a natural cenote lagoon that leads to the Heaven Bar.
