Epic work is
only possible
when you
have the
right people.
The kind of people who are good at what they do and know how to have fun in the process.

We always
take our
work seriously. But never ourselves.
We keep things light. We laugh hard. And we genuinely enjoy one another’s company. It’s our secret sauce. And when you work with us, we consider you part of the team. So prepare to roll up your sleeves and have some fun too.

Experiencing creativity and inspiring innovative thinkers! 💡
Last week, our Atlanta team volunteered at the Agape Youth and Family Center`s Corporate Volunteer Day. We toured their impressive new building, welcomed students into the after-school program, and our team served as Homework Buddies for the Kindergarten through 5th grade classes. And, as a fun landscape architecture exercise, we encouraged their creativity to blossom by designing an outdoor park together.
We had a blast! The Agape students were excited to learn about our local projects, like Centennial Olympic Park, and eager to share that they have visited our amazing themed entertainment projects, like Baha Bay and Volcano Bay. We`re grateful to the @agapeatl for welcoming us to learn more about their mission to help the students in their community embrace and achieve their full potential, and to share our passion for designing awesome places.
The "Day in the Life" of a Landscape Architect is entirely different from the next, and comes with its own challenges and thrills. The excitement and possibility are fueled by a team that pushes to find creativity in every project facet. From strategizing around a war table to celebrating the grand opening of our latest themed attraction, we try to harness and embrace the spontaneous flow to do our best work.

A few of our ATX designers attended the Austin Architecture Cruise earlier this month, where they enjoyed the picturesque views of Austin`s evolving skyline along Lady Bird Lake. It was a humble reminder of the beauty in old and new design, taking a closer look at the city we`re proud to be a part of. Thank you to the Austin Foundation for Architecture for hosting this enlightening experience!
It`s #UglyChristmasSweaterDay and we`re only just getting started for the holiday season with our annual ugly sweater contest coming this Tuesday. Our crew has a history of going all out, and we absolutely can`t wait to see what wild ideas and a little Photoshop will bring to the table. Swipe to see what some of us wore last year—who do YOU think took home the prize?
Last week, DTJ Austin team celebrated the warm welcome of two incredible architectural designers, Josiah and Farrah! 🌟 They each showcased their portfolios, allowing us to delve deeper into their individual journeys and discover the unique experiences they bring to DTJ. It was an exciting opportunity to get to know them personally and professionally. We couldn`t be more thrilled to have them on board, bringing fresh perspectives and talents to our creative team!
Matt kicked his career off in an awe-inspiring sort of way: skydiving. (Seriously, hats off to him!) But his passion for design started long before then - who needs sophisticated software or even the good ol` pen and paper when you have Legos to bring your vision to fruition? A young Matt would be seriously impressed to see the cool stuff his older self gets to design daily. And leaving a positive mark in this dynamic world that others can enjoy is the fuel that drives Matt`s creativity.
We celebrated our first DTJ Welcome Week earlier this month!
With the exciting growth of each of our offices this year, we wanted to take the opportunity to get to know better our newest Austin and Atlanta team members by bringing them to our home office in Boulder. The week focused on sharing the spirit unique to each of our offices while developing and discovering the DTJ Culture that our three offices share. A few of the activities from the week included in-person work sessions, an intern Charrette presentation, studio and company-wide happy hours, a Boulder oatmeal breakfast social, and a DTJ Company History Tour of Boulder!
