At DTJ, we’re known for being passionate about providing world class design and outstanding service to our clients. We’re also dedicated to bettering the communities where we live and work. As a company, DTJ has a long history of donating both time and money to organizations that our team members have identified as being near and dear to their hearts. This is a vibrant part of our company’s culture, and we see immense value in supporting the causes that affect our community and are important to our staff. Experience Compassion is a company-led effort that focuses on enhancing the lives of those around us by donating time and money to community-based organizations.

In 2021, DTJ launched a new Grant Program. The aim of the Program is to focus DTJ’s resources (time, energy, and money) toward one cause that our staff members feel passionate about and will have a positive impact in our communities.

We encouraged everyone to submit their idea of what they thought was a worthy cause for DTJ in 2021. Proposals were evaluated and the selected submission entered by Associate Eric Anderson, is Urban Food Initiative.

In association with the Denver Botanic Gardens and long-time partner Denver Housing Authority (DHA), this year’s proposal continues the mission of the Gardens’ Urban Food Initiative (UFI) at the Mariposa Urban Farm in allocating monies from the Experience Compassion Grant for needed improvements to the community gardens and increase access to fresh, healthy food through community-based projects.

Thank you to all who contributed their time in support of the UFI, so many passerby’s commented on the community garden improvement.

DTJ demo’d and constructed new garden beds as well as plans for the future installment of a greatly needed walk-in cooler that will help keep food fresh longer during farm-stand season!
