Breckenridge Block 11
DTJ created a master plan for two prominent parcels of town-owned land at the primary gateway into Breckenridge with the goal of allowing key low and middle-income residents to live in the community they serve. The plan creates a framework that relates to the pattern and dimension of the existing town and allows flexibility for a mix of housing types to occupy the same block. The strategy of mixed blocks will allow an array of housing choices and density in reaction to market demands over time, supporting residents of different socioeconomic levels, and creating a variety of visual character in the streetscene. The angled grid creates a diverse visual edge to the gateway to town, as well as interesting public access points to the Blue River.
DTJ provided planning, visioning, and design guidelines promoting the architecture that will be abstractions of the historic styles found in Breckenridge.
