Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra

The Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra displays 82 monumental stone sculptures from Zimbabwean artisans across 26 acres of natural and landscaped gardens. Nestled among the native landscape, the park is organized into eight zones along 1.5 miles of trails, each featuring a different theme on traditional African perspectives on family, nature, the role of women and elders, and Shona culture. The trail system was designed to place sculptures strategically along the path, walking visitors through a powerful and deeply expressive experience.

The park creates a distinctive anchor for the surrounding retail development, offering an outdoor performance space and replica of an African village. A great lawn and stage are strategically located in the park for outdoor performances.

DTJ provided planning and landscape architecture for the park.
