Ennis has seen a tremendous transformation since 2015 when the City’s Comprehensive Plan was developed. The outcome of public engagement and the planning process was to recommend a strategy for quality of life, with a set of goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve that. The Ennis 2022 Parks Master Plan is intended to advocate for equity in parks and recreation, bolster the preservation of natural areas, champion the acquisition of parkland, and balance recreation offerings with the relatively fast growth of the city.

The goals set forth in the Plan are quality of life, family focused and equitable, healthy living, and nature and culture.
