Located just outside Halifax, Nova Scotia, Forest Lakes Country Club and Resort is a master-planned residential and recreational community set within a woodland landscape. DTJ provided community visioning, master planning, landscape architecture, amenity design, and residential product concepts for a destination anchored by a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, with up to 2,500 residential units, a mixed-use village center, equestrian facilities, a recreation lake, and an extensive network of trails connecting neighborhoods, amenities, and open spaces throughout the community.

The community’s amenities are designed to serve as both social and recreational gathering places. The Welcome Lodge offers a warm, timber-frame and stone expression inspired by the North Woods cabin tradition, providing residents and visitors with a welcoming arrival experience and flexible spaces for meetings and community events.

Along Cochran Lake, a 10-acre community center and boathouse complex features a resort-style pool, patios, event lawns, swimming beach, fishing dock, fire pit gathering areas, and a lakeside boathouse, creating opportunities for year-round recreation and community engagement while reinforcing Forest Lakes’ connection to its natural setting.
