As the oldest town in the State of Texas, Nacogdoches has a rich history and deep cultural roots. The downtown is comprised of several historic landmarks and serves as the center for arts and entertainment. For the Downtown Vision Plan, the City desired a forward-thinking plan to address community character, economic resiliency, and redevelopment strategies. Working as a collaborative team, the DTJ team focused to seamlessly integrate the plan elements with clear and achievable actions and recommended catalyst projects to help stimulate new development initiatives. The community engagement process was extensive and designed to educate participants and solicit innovative and creative solutions to address communities priorities. The Nacogdoches Downtown Vision Plan was part of the a larger contract to address the City Comprehensive Plan , I-69 Corridor and the Downtown Vision Plan element.
