Woodland Park
The Woodland Park design is inspired by the large existing conifers typical of the Pacific Northwest. The forms and textures are interpretations of tree rings and can be seen in the shelter’s oval form and paving patterns; and the climbing wall is a bark-peeled log expression. This park is focused on creative play, nature play, and smaller group gatherings. The water play element is a scaled representation of the adjacent Snohomish River and valley. Unique features like the log scramble, tunnel, musical chimes, and woodland exploration trails all connect the site to its context.
