Celebrating Five Projects Shaping the Future of Community Living
And now for the winners…
Summerlin West
BALA Gold Award, Best Single Family Community

Summerlin West began with a bold idea. Instead of continuing the familiar pattern of gated desert development, the vision grew into a connected series of neighborhoods shaped by walkability, preserved natural washes, and a rich mix of housing types. Four distinct districts took shape, each with its own character yet united by a framework that embraces the land and the people who will call it home. It represents a shift toward a more vibrant and inclusive model of desert community design.
Firefly at Eagle Mountain – The St. Moritz
The Nationals Gold Award, Best Single Family Detached Model Home 2,501 to 3,000 SF

The St. Moritz was designed for people who crave a balance of beauty and everyday functionality. With light filtering in from a private side courtyard and a primary suite that feels like a true retreat, the home creates a sense of ease from the moment you enter. Its flowing main floor and flexible upper level make it a place that adapts to the rhythms of family life while still offering refined moments throughout.
Firefly at Eagle Mountain – The Chamonix
The Nationals Silver Award, Best Single Family Detached Model Home 2,001 to 2,500 SF

The Chamonix brings a distinctly modern character to Eagle Mountain. Clean Scandinavian lines, warm natural materials, and generous windows create a home that feels bright and grounded. Its layout is carefully shaped to bring people together while still offering quiet corners of privacy. Even on a compact lot, it achieves a sense of spaciousness and an easy connection to the outdoors.
Hayloft Big Creek Clubhouse
The Nationals Silver Award, Best Community Amenity for a 55+ Buyer

Hayloft Big Creek Clubhouse stands as the social heart of this 55+ community. Inspired by the welcoming simplicity of agrarian forms, the clubhouse feels familiar in the best way. Inside, residents gather around a cozy fireplace, join fitness and movement classes, or meet for community events. Outside, porches open to an active landscape filled with opportunities to play and relax. It is a place where neighbors naturally become friends.
Hayloft Big Creek
The Nationals Silver Award, Best Apartment/Independent Living Community for 55+ Buyer

Hayloft Big Creek builds on this spirit of connection at the community scale. Designed for Active Adults seeking comfort and choice, it offers a walkable neighborhood surrounded by natural landscapes. A variety of floorplans give residents the freedom to find the home that fits them best, while amenities like resident gardens, pickleball courts, a fitness center, and welcoming green spaces create a daily rhythm of activity and belonging. It is a place where life feels both peaceful and full.
Our Design Impact
These five projects remind us why we do what we do. They show the power of design to support community, elevate everyday moments, and create places people are proud to call home.
