DTJ Takes Home 11 Wins at the 2026 PCBC Gold Nugget Awards
Great design shows up in the details: a courtyard that pulls in natural light, a trail system that ties a neighborhood together, a clubhouse that feels like it grew out of the landscape around it. This year, that attention to detail earned DTJ recognition across an impressive range of categories at the 2026 PCBC Gold Nugget Awards. From clubhouses rooted in the desert landscape to workforce housing that strengthens community connection, these projects reflect what our team does best: designing places that respond to their context and genuinely improve how people live.

Hayloft Big Creek
Grand Award – Best Age Qualified Senior Living Community – For Sale/Rent
Hayloft Big Creek brings a fresh concept to 55+ living with rental cottages and stacked flats set in an intimate, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. Ten floor plan options across cottages, paired homes, and stacked flats offer residents flexibility in lifestyle and pricing, while the full-service clubhouse—complete with pickleball courts and resident gardens—anchors the community from the moment they arrive.
Renegade Clubhouse at Desert Mountain
Grand Award – Best Recreational Use Facility – Public/Municipal
Renegade Clubhouse embraces the dramatic topography of the Sonoran Desert rather than fighting it. Floor-to-ceiling glass, deep roof overhangs, and courtyards create a hospitality-forward space that blends indoor and outdoor living, all while supporting golf operations and elevated social gathering. Built in phases to keep golf operations running throughout construction, the result is a clubhouse that feels timeless and deeply rooted in place.
Northpoint on Jarvis Creek
Merit Award – Best On-the-Boards Affordable Housing Community
Developed through a private-public partnership, Northpoint on Jarvis Creek supports local essential workforce housing needs while reflecting the character of Hilton Head Island. Street-oriented architecture and community gathering nodes are connected by open space and trails, making the most of a long, narrow site and creating homes for families earning between 60% and 120% of AMI.
Summerlin West
Merit Award – Best Community Land Plan
One of the best-selling master-planned communities in the country, Summerlin West is built around five distinct village cores. DTJ shaped a complete streets strategy for multi-modal transportation, a community-wide open space and trails system, and a strategic approach to stormwater management. This positioned the property with a vision that will carry forward for the next 25 years.
Hayloft Big Creek Manor House
Merit Award – Best Built-For-Rent Community Product Design
This six-unit stacked flat building carries the character of a classic rowhouse, elevated with expressive rooflines, quality materials, and generous outdoor decks and terraces. Ground-floor units open to individual entrances, while upper-floor units are served by a shared grand stair and glass elevator. Every unit is paired with its own single-car garage.
Firefly at Eagle Mountain
Merit Award – Residential Detached Collection of the Year
Firefly reimagines Utah living for modern families, designed around the belief that thoughtful design can support a healthier, more connected life. Alley-loaded homes are organized around central courtyards that flood interiors with light, while interior “tech-drawers” encourage families to put technology away and reconnect with each other and the outdoors—all within a community framed by a significant open space and trails network.
Firefly at Eagle Mountain — The St. Moritz
Merit Award – Best Single Family Detached Home — 2,500 to 3,000 sq. ft.
The St. Moritz balances beauty with everyday functionality. A private side courtyard fills the home with natural light, the primary suite offers a true retreat, and a flowing main floor with a flexible upper level lets the home adapt to the rhythms of family life without losing its refined details.
